“The first time I wrote my full name
without anybody's help on a clean white page in my composition notebook,
I knew if I wanted to I could write anything.
Letters becoming words, words gathering meaning, becoming thoughts outside my
head…becoming sentences… ” Jacqueline Amanda Woodson.
Can the world ever go paperless, imagine a world without books or paper?
So much of our life is “On Paper”, our worth, our credentials, metaphor of our
thoughts and expressions, mythology, transactions, our dreams and goals, our
achievements and even our relationships for that matte Paper sometimes is even
more trusting than people… the power of paper.
The blankness of paper can be extremely intimidating and overwhelming but it can
also act as a clean slate, an opportunity to re-write, re-start, re- visit and re-build. A
resource to imagine and achieve limitless possibilities, heightened creativity and
freedom... the power of paper.
Paper is a confidant, a friend where life’s emotions, secrets and achievements arejotted down without judgement or criticism. It’s also a gratitude journal.
Paper wraps, it crumples, it’s fragile yet it absorbs and captures every moment.
It defends and sustains it’s object, illustrating depth with or without purpose… the
power of paper.

" Paper has this beautiful capacity to absorb and retain every interaction in the form of a dent, a fold or a mark. It validates every idea, every emotion for me. As the idea manifests itself, in words, drawings or structures, the thought takes a concrete form only when it meets Paper."
Niyeti Chadha Kannal -
Day by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running stream.
In big black letters I write my name on them and the name of
the village where I live.I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and
know who I am.I load my little boats with shiuli flowers from our garden, and hope that these blooms of the dawn will be carried safely to land in the night.
I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the little clouds
setting their white bulging sails.I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down the air to race with my boats!
When night comes I bury my face in my arms and dream that my paper boats float on and on under the midnight stars.
The fairies of sleep are sailing in them, and the lading is their baskets full of dreams.

"White is synonymous with paper for me. It is pure and light. My process allows me to
recreate the shades, textures, tonalities and make its inherent character visible to the human eye. But what lies beneath is the real beauty."
