In the contemporary era concepts, ideas, multidisciplinary approaches and techniques are used to recreate issues and concerns which are becoming increasingly relevant. We communicate through visuals where lens is an important tool that can work in tandem with all forms of expressions, incorporating advancements in technology and playing its part in various ways to add value. The physicality and materiality of the medium is derived from the context, comfort of the artists and their freedom to express themselves using their artistic sensibility and material skill.
This show examines the various contemporary practices through inner voices broadening perspectives on lens-based art. This is divided into perceptions of the medium and the struggle to connect with it while challenging its identity. The aim here is to appreciate and comprehend different ways the lens can be used to elevate itself.
