DELHI’S FIRST AUTO-RICKSHAW DRIVER
Sunita Choudhary, 40, has been driving the streets of Delhi since 2004, after facing major difficulties to make a mark for herself in the male-dominated profession. With bureaucratic troubles in attaining a commercial auto-rickshaw driver's license to drive in Delhi, her journey entails of untold spine-chilling hardships like child marriage, physical abuse by her husband and in-laws, sexual harassment and later hostility from her male colleagues.
In her struggle to remain in the male-dominated profession, she tells me, "I had no other option but to fight back.”
