Promises II is a series of four wooden sculptures with intertwined ropes with words written within them representing the promises we make to our political, social, and cultural structures and vice versa. Assurances of compassion, peace, intimacy, prosperity, and well-being are like obligations our systems impose on us in order for us to thrive as social beings.
These works brings to attention the friction and tension that results from our intricate societal programming, which shapes our thoughts and emotions.
